Ultrasound guidance allows your provider to see exactly where the lip filler sits and dissolve only what needs to go. Yes, and it is one of the most common corrections we perform. Under-eye filler is unforgiving: the skin there is thin, so filler placed too superficially can look puffy, lumpy, or take on a bluish-grey cast known as the Tyndall effect. It can also hold water and look worse in the morning. Ultrasound guidance matters here more than anywhere else on the face, because it lets your provider see exactly how deep the filler sits before anything is injected. Most under-eye corrections are quick.

Most of the filler we dissolve was placed by someone else, and that is completely normal. You will not get a lecture about it here. Bring whatever you know: the product used, roughly when it was placed, and how much. If you do not know any of that, it is still fine. Ultrasound shows what is actually there regardless of what the paperwork says. We will tell you honestly whether dissolving is the right answer at all.

Migration means filler has moved beyond where it was placed. In lips, the usual signs are a shelf or ridge above the upper lip border, a loss of the natural lip outline, or a duck shape that appears gradually over months. Elsewhere it can show as fullness in an area that was never treated, puffiness that does not settle, or asymmetry that was not there at first. Filler can also persist far longer than expected, often beyond the advertised six to eighteen months. If something looks off and you are not sure why, an ultrasound assessment will show whether filler is the cause before you commit to anything.

Filler correction at Impeccable Aesthetics is led by Joey Seson, MSN, APRN-Rx, MBA, an advanced practice registered nurse with prescriptive authority, licensed in Hawaii, and a national trainer and key opinion leader for Merz Aesthetics and Revance, meaning he teaches injection technique to other providers. Fay Stearns, MSN, ACNP, CPNP-AC and Sarah Seson, RN, BSN also perform ultrasound-guided correction. It is a specialised skill that relatively few injectors in Hawaii offer, and it is a core part of our practice rather than an occasional add-on.

We correct filler at both Oahu locations, by appointment only. Filler correction starts at $500. The final cost depends on how much filler is present, how many areas need treatment, and whether more than one session is needed. Migration that has built up over years sometimes takes a staged approach rather than one aggressive appointment. Your provider assesses the area with ultrasound and quotes you before anything is injected, so you know the cost in advance.
