They solve different problems. Neurotoxin, which includes BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, Xeomin and Daxxify, relaxes the muscles that crease the skin, so it softens lines that appear when you move: frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. Dermal filler adds volume back where you have lost it, restoring cheeks, chin and jawline structure and shaping lips. PRF uses your own blood to improve skin quality and under-eye hollowness gradually, rather than adding volume all at once. Plenty of patients end up with a combination. The point of the free consultation is to tell you which of these will actually change the thing that is bothering you.

Single-area neurotoxin treatments run $100 to $340, depending on the area, the product and the number of units you need. Dermal filler starts at $700 per syringe, and PRF starts at $700, with most patients having a series of two or three sessions. Consultations are free, and your provider quotes you the full cost before anything is injected, so the number does not change once you are in the chair. We also offer CareCredit and Cherry financing.

Most people find injectables very manageable. Neurotoxin uses a very fine needle, takes a few minutes and has essentially no downtime, so you can go back to work straight after. Filler is more involved and we use numbing to keep you comfortable; expect some swelling and the possibility of bruising for a few days, with lips swelling the most. PRF involves a blood draw first and can leave mild swelling or bruising under the eyes. If you have an event coming up, book at least two weeks ahead so everything has settled.

Come and see us. Ultrasound-guided filler correction, which means dissolving migrated or poorly placed filler, is a core part of our practice and uncommon in Hawaii. Other practices refer their filler complications to us. You will not be lectured about where the original work was done. Bring whatever you know about the product and when it was placed, and if you do not know, ultrasound shows us what is actually there before anything is injected.
