Preparing for Your SkinCeuticals Chemical Peel

To ensure optimal results and minimize complications, follow these guidelines before your appointment:

  • Discontinue retinol, retinoids, and exfoliating acids (AHAs, BHAs) for 3–5 days before treatment

  • Avoid waxing, threading, or other hair removal treatments on the face for at least 48–72 hours prior

  • Do not undergo laser treatments, microneedling, or other facial procedures for at least one week before your peel

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning for at least one week prior

  • Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup or skincare products

  • Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores—prophylactic antiviral medication may be recommended for deeper peels

  • Do not schedule your peel if you have active breakouts, sunburn, open wounds, or irritated skin

Ongoing Care:

  • Continue using SPF 30+ daily—sun protection is essential during the healing process

  • Do not undergo other facial treatments (lasers, microneedling, additional peels) for at least two weeks
